Project Quality Engineer

In Finland, Airbus Defence and Space Oy employs around 370 people in Helsinki and Jyväskylä. Most of our employees work in Secure Land Communications (SLC) business unit, which offers advanced communication and collaboration solutions, compliant with the highest standards of security and reliability, both for mission and business critical users. We help our customers in public safety organisations such as police, defence, fire & rescue, healthcare & hospitals, airports, transportation, oil & gas, and utilities, collaborate in a smart and secure manner. While offering hybrid solutions to support our customers on a smooth evolution path, we are playing an active role in shaping future communications and collaborations technology and setting the ground for new standards.
We are now looking for a Project Quality Engineer to join our Operational Quality team in the Helsinki office. This role includes ensuring Quality Assurance in Tetra infra and broadband projects. You will work in an international environment with various highly skilled experts with the target to improve and optimize the SLC’s daily practices with the focus on customers.
In this role you will constantly learn new things and have a true impact on your daily work. You will join our quality community consisting of 8 professionals in Finland and a bigger team abroad in other SLC entities. Hence, support is always available. Due to the nature of our business, quality is the key value in our company, and therefore you are genuinely needed and valued along our common journey.
Main role and responsibilities
- Monitoring the project quality according to project plans, processes and objectives
- Supporting the project in preparing project milestones and quality targets
- Facilitating lessons learned sessions, providing feedback to the project and proposing improvement actions.
- Follow-up of the agreed improvement actions
- Supporting the projects in lean/agile way of working
- Proactively managing risks with stakeholders
- Contributing to continuous improvement activities, including improving and documenting our processes and performing root cause analyses.
What we expect from you
- Excellent cooperation skills
- Willingness and ability to learn new things
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Engineering or some other relevant field
- Basic understanding of quality management and process development
- Basic understanding of agile/lean project development and project management
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Succeeding in this role requires good listening and cooperation skills, and willingness and ability to learn new topics. You will get the chance to work independently, in an analytical and proactive way. You have the courage to bring up improvement needs. We also appreciate flexibility and diplomacy. You are working in multifunctional and international teams with strong customer orientation.
