We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team in Helsinki office.

As a Legal Counsel you will promote, secure and defend the legal interests of the Secure Land Communications (SLC) Business by giving independent professional legal advice and assistance to its management team. In addition, you contribute proactively to the mitigation of the SLC Business’ risks by alerting potential major risks and elaborating alternative proposals. You are in charge of all legal matters related to the activities located in Finland and North of Europe. In addition, You will actively support our Senior Legal Advisor based in our Helsinki office.

You will join a very pleasant international legal team and have the opportunity to interact with people worldwide within SLC but also within Airbus Group, and benefit from experience and knowledge of the Airbus’ Group Legal and Compliance community.

Main role and responsibilities

Provide advice and support on corporate matters and corporate law issues as well as on Intellectual Property Rights and Data Protection / Privacy matters and issues

• Ensure that all legal and compliance processes/procedures are adhered to
• Provide legal support on all legal subjects, with a particular focus on drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, analyzing legal validity of claims from and against partners, customers or suppliers, advising on regulatory aspects like public procurement laws, anti-trust regulations, data protection, etc.
• Interact with the tax and finance departments for the review of contracts and other topics where their specialist advice is needed
• Prepare legal and compliance parts of proposal approval in the frame of the bid process
• Manage and coordinate the use of external law firms
• Manage pre-litigation and litigation files
• Organize legal and compliance trainings
• Support the international SLC Legal & Compliance team in various matters (as implementation of legal process, drafting/updating of contract templates, actively participating in team calls/events and interacting with legal & Compliance colleagues on a regular basis

What we expect of you

We are seeking an outgoing commercial Legal Counsel with 2-5 years relevant experience either in-house or within a law firm. The geographical scope of this role is mainly Finland and other Northern European countries. The Legal Counsel may, from time to time, also support the legal & Compliance team beyond this scope.

We appreciate if you have experience in:

Handling international contract matters and background in local law

• MNO/SMVNO, SaaS, Cloud contracting and license management
• Data protection/Privacy and GDPR

As for language skills, fluent spoken and written Finnish and English skills are needed in this position, French is seen as an advantage. We expect you to feel comfortable working independently, to be flexible and business oriented.

This is a permanent position and it will start as agreed.

The position requires basic security clearance approval from Finnish authorities.
